ASSEMBLAGE, ART DECO AND SHADOWY FIGURES...

I got this intriguing etching recently...who is the shadowy figure? Is it a man or women? Where is s/he going to...or coming from? Tell me what you think...

Some shots of assemblage in the shop...I got a boxed lot of clocks and 6 out of 10 still work!

This is a very cool ashtray made of marble with a statue of a girl reading a book attached. It's very much in the "art deco" style of the 1920's-which makes sense as that was the time when women first started to smoke in public, wear short dresses and cut their hair into a "bob." We don't use ashtrays much these days so I put a little plant in it. I believe her face may be carved ivory. $150 (free shipping.)

  1. Hello, I just found your blog yesterday and I love it. On the June 20 you have two plant frogs on a glass table (Iron bed with glass shelves)? Do you still have the frogs if so can you email me with the price please! Thank you, Sandi
